This is my first time posting and I would appreciate some feedback! My dress arrived a few weeks ago, and I was able to go to the salon on Saturday to try it on. (It is the Casablanca 2211, I believe.) I like the dress, and I’m sure I’ll like it more after I lose a few pounds and it’s tailored to fit me. I’m writing mainly about the veil pictured below. I honestly don’t have any opinions about veils, so I pretty much left it up to my mom to pick a few out (she also generously offered to pay for it, which is another reason I deferred to her judgment). I really like the one she purchased (below). As you can see the back of my dress is the show-stopper, and I like that you can see it through the veil. I also like the longer veil since I’m getting married in a very large catholic church and I think it has a nice elegance to it.
My issue is that last night my mom texted that she was having second thoughts, and she wishes we had tried on a shorter veil (chapel length). Do any of you think a longer veil with a shorter train looks odd? Have any of you had a longer veil with a shorter train? It’s not too late to put a hold on the order, so be honest!
Thank you so much!

I like the longer veil with the shorter train. I’m doing that for my dress. Just pick what you like and feel comfortable in.

I did a long veil and a short train! Unfortunately it’s hard to tell in this photo…my mom also thought I should’ve gone shorter, but I really loved the look! Also, it’s easy to shorten a veil at the clip, so if you decide later that you do want it a bit shorter, your seamstress can do it for you!

I think it looks beautiful together!!

I love it when a veil is longer than the train (otherwise, i think it looks odd). i wore a sheath dress with a chapel train and a cathedral length veil. don’t have any pics back yet – still waiting on them! but it looks great.

I love long veils, and think they looks especially stunning with a simpler sheath silhouette.
By The Way that dress is perfect on you, love it with the veil 🙂

I’m doing a cathedral veil with a sheath. I like that I still get the drama on the way down the aisle, but it’ll be much easier to get around after the ceremony when I take it off.
I think it’s the best of both worlds to have the sleek dress and the long romantic veil. I vote keep it!!

That veil is perfect , I love the way the pattern at the bottom of it echoes the back of your dress .

Thank you all for taking the time to look at this post and respond. I think I’ll keep the veil, but it’s also nice to know that I have the option to shorten it at the clip if I decide to (I never knew this was possible!). Best wishes to all of you.
