I originally purchased a 2 tier fingertip length veil to go with my dress – the veil is ivory & has crystally bits stuck on the veil itself. However, I am seeing a lot of cathedral veils & just love them! But I don’t know if I can get away with one with my dress as my dress is fairly simple – that and I’m not sure about the crystals on it anymore!
We are getting married in a church & my fiance will be in military uniform so I guess relatively formally dressed but my dress is chiffon & quite floaty so I’m not sure.
Do you reckon I should go for a cathedral length or fingertip length veil with my dress? And whatever length I go for, do you reckon it is better to go for crystals or pearl type beads on the veil? (I want something on it, probably on the edge rather than the actual veil as the current veil I have)
I’ve attached pics of the front & the back so you can see what it looks like. The only difference is that the front chiffon of the dress is being changed slightly so it covers the waist seam you currently see on the dress in these pics at the front. The beading on the dress is a mix of crystals and ivory pearly beading.

Honestly? I think the shorter fingertip will look better with your dress style. As far as pearls vs crystals? I’m not sure. I’d have to see pictures. I’m highly visual. 🙂 lol

I think you could get away with a cathedral length veil depending on how you accessorize with your jewelry and how you do your hair. The type of embellishment you do on on the veil also depends, I think, on the kind of jewelry you would like to wear, but I think I’m leaning toward the pearl type beads.

I am thinking fingertip with that dress. I would stick with embellishments that compliment the dress, if there are crystals on the dress then stick with those.

I agree with the fingertip

i am usually not a fan of fingertip but i think it would look best with your dress. i see a cathedrail veil with a more dramatic, extravagant dress. i think a fingertip veil will compliment the simplicity of your beautiful and classic dress.

Thanks ladies, a shorter veil it is! I’m actually wondering if I need to go with an elbow length veil now rather than a fingertip length. I keep reading about how the line of the veil should end above or below the decoration on the dress rather than at the decoration, and from what I can work out, the longer tier of a fingertip would sit where the assymetrical hem starts on the skirt so it may look funny. Not sure really, what do you reckon?
I’ve attached a picture of the fingertip veil I have just now, but its not on me as it is at my Mom & Dad’s and I don’t have any pics with it on!

@NearlyMrsMac: Mine is elbow length. I know there is a technical name for it (?) but I love how it looks with my dress. I wish I had a pic!! Maid/Matron of Honor is supposed to be emailing them to me.
