Hi Bee!  Now I know this is going to sound like I’m raining on your parade but there are some realities here you need to think about.  I hope you take this as helpful though as that is my intention.

I have the tapered-at-the stone, 5 diamond bridge (both sides have the little diamonds).  My pear is a 1.02 ct

You will need to wear a smooth spacer band after you’re married, to protect the little stones’ prongs from being eaten away by your wedding ring, if your wedding ring has prongs, or milgrain etc.

I use a 1 mm smooth spacer.  Of course during your engagement period, you will see the little stones, but after, you won’t see them with the spacer probably.  And yes your wedding ring if it has any stones is going to eat away at the e-ring and you will lose those little stones.

NOTE: The last picture shows it with the spacer band, you cannot see the stones.

loubylou44 :  Beautiful!! If you take PP’s suggestions to protect the hidden stones, even if you can’t see them all the time, you will know they are there and it will be a special secret.

Daisy_Mae :  Absolutely!  I see them once in a while and while I would have preferred they not be there, they do glitter so nicely from the opposite side (side closer to my fingertips).  Plus OP’s sentimental factor, it’s a go!

loubylou44 :  Yes, it has them on both sides!  I love to stack, so I barely notice the fact that I can’t see them, as the stacking bands are what I notice.  Plus, it doesn’t have to be a plain spacer band, here I mix it up a bit with a bead band and some sapphire/diamonds

loubylou44 :  Will you be doing white gold, or platinum, or one of the colored golds?

I admit I am not very familiar with aquamarine, but it’s usually a soft subtle blue, right?  I think they would look nice in any of the golds!

loubylou44 :  Oh, now I like that too, and you can see them all the time!  I think I would choose that (the diamonds up higher on the basket I mean)

I think higher up on the basket is much prettier. It gives you more of a visual impact and they are less likely to rub or wear. Aquas are a bit of a softer stone (7.5-8 mohs) so the same as a morganite or emerald. So keep that in mind when you are thinking of where you want them in the setting.
