It all depends on what kind of music you are looking for, who is doing it, what are the instruments, etc.

We wanted a really joyful mass where everyone could participate in our ceremony with us. As we are the conveyors of the sacrament, we really wanted people to join in with us, especially through the music.

Prelude: “Set me as a Seal”: Matt Maher

Parents/Bridal Party Entrance: “Be Thou my Vision”

Bridal Entrance: “Cry of the Beloved”: Alicia Hernon

Psalm: “Blest Are Those”: Marty Haugen

Alleluia: chorus of Matt Maher’s “Love has Come”

Presentation of the Gifts: “The Servant Song”: Richard Gillard

Agnus Dei: Matt Maher

Communion: “I shall be healed”: Bob Rice

Marian Dedication: “As I Kneel”: Maria Parkinson

Exit: “Joyful, Joyful, We adore Thee”

Our mass was beyond amazing. People are STILL talking about our ceremony and especially the music. Even our priest is still talking about it every time we see him, lol.

All the lyrics can be found in my post on THIS thread. There’s a few other music threads on the Catholic board with music in it from others too if you need more choices etc.

@Leprechaun: We did “Te Deum” too! Such a great song. We walked in together.

Bridesmaids did “Air on the G String” by Bach before that.

Before the ‘maids were our parents who walked in to “Jesus Christ the Apple Tree” by Elizabeth Poston.

ETA! Our gathering song was For the Beauty of the Earth. My dad also played 2 Irish airs on the violin as a prelude.

I have always loved Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Old 100th. You might recognize it as All People That One Earth Do Dwell, but the full arrangment is so elegant and grand sounding to me, perfect for an entrance! The quality of this video is a little poor, but it really gives you the feel. It’s very moving, I think.

I also love Sir Gustav Holst’s Jupiter, Bringer of Jollity (the middle section). Technically, it’s just classical, but it has been arranged as a hymn called Oh, God Beyond All Praising. This duet is gorgeous, though it isn’t edited.

For our prelude we’re having a version of Litany of the Saints composed by my choral director

We did a non-traditional wedding entrance where the Priest entered, then bridal party then groom escorted by his parents and Bride Escorted by hers. It is an option in the “Together for Life” book and it symbolized family unity, which I loved, not to mention we didn’t have to have songs for everyone and kept it real simple.

So we used Taize where the whole congregation could sing without a hymnal:

Order of Songs

Entrance:  Bless the Lord, My soul – Taizehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zw4PMTJpAJk

Responsorial:  Blessed are those who love you

Gifts:  Wait For the Lord – Taizehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCKq_CdoYE0&feature=related

Communion:  In the Lord-Taize (also in German )http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAx8gjQrsOY&feature=related

Meditation:  How Beautiful

Closing:  Praise the Lord, ye heavens, adore him (sung to tune of Joyful Joyful)
