lisadsullivan82:  The Catholic Church has an automatic 6 month waiting period.  They will not let you get married faster than that, evne if you are a member of the church.

Also, your marriage in the Catholic church, even without you being Catholic, will be recognized by the church.  You will need to get dispensation from the Bishop, but that is normally not a big deal anymore.

Did you get married in the Catholic church for your first wedding?  Annulments are only needed if you got married in the church prior.

The Church considers non-Catholic marriages entered into by non-Catholics to be valid, so OP would need an annullment.

The six-month waiting is standard, but I think a bishop could probably waive it but you’d need to have a good reason.

OP – you need to speak with a priest at your fiance’s parish to find out what’s what.
