I would love to get married in a Catholic church, but I’m not 100% clear on the limitations and guidelines. I don’t want to have to jump through hoops for Holy Matrimony, I guess I’m a bit confused!
I was raised Catholic. Baptized, made Eucharist and Confirmed, but since being in college, I haven’t been a super active member. I’m actually not even a member of a church even though I do attend one near the University on occassion. My mom, the Catholic parent, passed away during my senior year in high school, so I don’t even have a family member who is a registered member of a Catholic church at this time.
My fiance on the other hand is non denominational and not baptized. He is Christian and does go to church, but like me, he doesn’t have a church home. I guess my question is will the Catholic Church marry us? My old congregation was a bit on the “liberal” side, but I’m just a bit unsure.
