Ms.Bookworm829:  This was our reception timeline (and we also had a Catholic wedding, but that need not matter too much when planning the reception :))  Our reception was 5:30pm – 11pm

5:30pm – Reception was ‘open’.  We did not do a cocktail hour either, but the bar opened, and we let guests know via invite that we would be doind our receiving line at that time, if they wanted to see us, but that the reception festivities start at 6:15!

6:15pm – Guests take seat, we get announced in, and we cut the cake immediately (so it can be taken off the dance floor and cut for later).

6:30pm – Dinner service starts, as do the blessing and toasts.

7:00pm – As guests are still eating, we start our first dance, parents dance, etc (we did NOT want to be ‘all eyes on us’ so this worked out really well…)

7:15/7:30pm – Dance floor officially opens, and we had a DANCE PARTY til last call was made at 10:30pm.

Guests started shuttling back to hotel for after party at the hotel bar at 10:30-11:00pm
