Hello Sky,

I am not, but I have found that the average cost for just the renting of the church is anywhere from 300.00 on up. It depends on the size and location of the church. Hope this helps.

We looked at getting married in the church my parents are members of – it was $675.  They wouldn’t marry non-members (and when they found out we were living together, wouldn’t marry us), but that was the price.  I’m sure there is a lot of regional variation – this was for a large church in a nicer area of Ohio.

If you are not a member its the cost is more.  How much more n the total cost of marriage varies from parish to parish.

I will pay 150 euros ($190 USD) for my church. It’s very beautiful with paintings and chandeliers, but we also have to pay the church that my FI’s family is a member of! I didn’t want to get married there. It’s not as nice and a bit small. I have to pay 60 euros ($76 USD).

I am catholic, and orginally we had a catholic church selected.  It was 750 for the church and the priest, and it would be around 150 for music on top of that.  Now it was downtown and we weren ‘t memebers, so that’s why the cost was high.

However now, we had to change to a Christian church, we selected Methodist & are paying 2000 for the minister and the music… crazy, eh?

What????? That’s like the price of a dress! I hope they are providing floral decorations with that price.

For me?.. no nothing other than the church, the minister, the music, and a free plain white unity candle… that’s it.

We wanted to get married in a historic church near where we lived.  This is one that we drive past every day on the way into town.  Our pictures will be taken where we live, and that was important to us.  So we sacrificed on the reception.  It’s out of town, a little further of a drive, and not in an AMAZING space, but we are trying to make it fab.
