I had a miscarriage in August, started my period in September, and got a BFP last Thursday (Oct 11). I am so happy to be pregnant again so soon, but I refuse to let myself get too excited. I have this overwhelming fear that it’s going to happen again and I’m just scared. Really scared. But also cautiously optimistic.
Last time, my hcg was at 13 when I miscarried at 5.5 wks. This time, my hcg was at 765 on Thursday, at 4w5d (which is exciting!)… but couldn’t it have been that high last time around the same time frame (?). I have another test for hcg tomorrow and I’m getting my progesterone level checked too. The OB said the prog level should be at least 20 to sustain the pregnancy. I am sooo nervous. Please send good thoughts and cross your fingers for good hcg and progesterone results!
Also, if the hcg doubles as it should (~2200-3k) and the progesterone is greater than 20, does the risk of mc decrease by a lot?
Any stories of your experience (good or bad) of your pregnancy so quickly after a MC would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like your doc is doing the right stuff; my experience was similar with getting pregnant again, and while my progesterone was low (I think that contributed to the first m/c), a supplement fixed that problem!
Wishing you a happy & healthy 9 months!

I’ve had 2 miscarriages, so I know how it feels to be cautiously optimistic. *hugs* I’m hoping and praying for you that this is your rainbow baby!

Sending you good wishes. Like @inspiredcreations advised, if progesterone is low and caught early enough there are supplements that may help.
My progesterone was 9 when I was first tested, took supplements throughout first trimester and I am now 31 weeks.

@legalese: Congrats! I hope this is your sticky baby! I got pregnant the first time we tried after a miscarriage and so far this pregnancy has been going great (I’m almost 33 weeks). I remember how terrifying it was at the beginning and how agonizing it was waiting for bloodwork. Hang in there… my fingers are crossed for you!
