Those are fantastic travel plans! We hope to be able to do an international trip in 2019 to either Amsterdam or Ireland.

I will be taking the husband on his first trip to Universal Orlando in January. He loves movies, I LOVE Harry Potter and I haven’t seen any of the new areas after the original opening. I am so excitedl!

barbie86 :  We just came back from our honeymoon in the smoky mountains so we probably won’t be taking another vacation together for a while. (so just started a job and his vacation package is dismal compared to mine) I think I will be going to Melbourne FL/Tampa this spring. My family lives down there and I haven’t visited in over two years. For our anniversary I’d like to go to Hawaii.

pussinboots83 :  Have fun!! What else are you planning to do there? I used to live in Orlando and I miss it a lot.

Those sounds like fun! We did a couple big trips last year, so we are doing cheaper things this year. Last year we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and then on an Alaskan cruise- which I’d highly recommend! We also just got back from a family wedding trip to Philadelphia. We took a few extra days to do some tourist stuff while there.

In January we are going to Disney World with my parents. I love Disney and have been many times, but it will be DH’s first trip there. I’m really excited. Then we’ll be staying home for a bit while we buy a new house in the spring. After that, we are thinking a road trip next fall. We live in the Midwest and are going to drive out to Yellowstone, making tons of stops along the way. Should be great!

We are going to the Smokies for Thanksgiving with my family, and then two weeks later we’re going to Banff NP in Canada! We went for our honeymoon in March and couldn’t wait to go back. After that we want to start saving for a Europe trip!

oceangirl40 :  thanks! It’s only a short trip (3 nights). He’s never really been to a theme park like what they have in Orlando with such elaborate theming and technologically advanced rides so we will just be staying on Universal property and taking our time. I love Orlando and I kind of hope this trip gives him the same bug I got on my first trip and he will want to go back and spend more time down there.

barbie86 :  It was beautiful. We didn’t see any bears or elk though, which was a little disappointing. We did see turkey and deer and hiked a bit. The downtown area was a lot of fun as well.  We did quite a bit of moonshine tastings.

sqldudette :  Where in Japan did you go? My husband lived in the Yamanashi prefecture for two years and has travelled all over Japan. I visited him but stuck to the Kofu area. It was awesome but very rural.

barbie86 :  funny that your SO is against it because mine was too. He couldn’t justify the cost because for what we would spend we can go to a lot of other places he would rather experience. I lucked out and won this vacation which is the only reason he is going lol

How are winters and summers in Amsterdam?  The husband can’t deal with anything about 70 degrees Farenheit and is all about cold weather.

oceangirl40 :  last year we did Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka. We spent a week in Tokyo and then split the second week between Kyoto and Osaka. This time we are doing Tokyo and Osaka again, but also Nagoya and Fukuoka. Just over two weeks until we leave and I am pumped haha. Less so for the 13.5 hours it will take us to get there from Canada but it’s so worth it.

pussinboots83 :  Harry Potter at Universal Orlando is on my list of places I need to go. Harry Potter is my favvvourite and I went to Universal Osaka to see it but it’s not as big as the one in Florida so I’ll definitely have to head down there at some point haha.
