barbie86 :  Same. Which is why I decided to just go elsewhere if they do decide to come down. I’m just not willing to change my whole vacation to center around kids .I’ll probably go out to dinner one night but the rest of the time will be spent at the beach, by the pool, beer and wine tasting and just general sight seeing. They did say not to plan around them and there’s a good chance that they won’t even come so I’m holding on to that .

We live in Denver and took a four day trip to spend time with family that wasn’t holiday related in early January. It was so nice to just hang out with family and friends and not worry about the hustle and bustle of the holidays! Last weekend, we spent three days in Phoenix with friends that moved there in July 2017 – we may have specifically waited until the winter to visit though! wink At the beginning of March, we are headed to Washington DC for a few days to do all the touristy things. We currenty have tours set up at the White House, FBI and Capitol. So excited! All your trips sound awesome!

I went to Mexico at the begining of February then Cuba for the end of February so no upcoming plans, sadly ๐Ÿ™ Darling Husband and I might go to Niagara Falls this spring, it will depend on how things are going work wise for him. But I think I’ll save my vacation time for my birthday since we seem to go on a trip every other year for my birthday and we didn’t go anywhere last year. Plus I might get some kids this summer (cute, 4 legged furry goat variety!)

I am so excited for our next big trip coming up this October for my 30th. We are going to Kenya. Staying 4 nights at a Masai Mara tented camp. One morning around sun rise we are going on a hot air balloon safari. 4 nights at Sweetwaters at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy(Were Sudan the worlds last male Northern White Rhino died recently of old age related conditions ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜ข), 4 nights in Amboseli National Park. Then we are going to the Giraffe Manor! Which is a bit is a splurge for us, but has been on our bucket list for years! Breakfast with Giraffes, ummm yes please! ๐Ÿ˜Š When booking our flights we found that Emirates offered a free layover in Dubai so we extended our vacation by spending 4 nights in Dubai. Really excited about a desert safari through a conservation with dinner and entertainment. We absolutely love to travel. Its the only thing we really splurge on anymore…

Fun thread! We just had two SUCH contrasting trips: we spent 4 days in Tuscany with friend with no kids, and 10 days in South Africa with family with kids – hugely different experiences!!!

We will spend 5 days in the summer on small island off the coast of Italy, I think, probably with D.Hs parents.

Everyone else’s trips sound so fun!!!

Great to see this thread is still active, we recently just booked our next trip for the fall – heading over to South Korea and Hong Kong. I am excited but it’s such a long wait ๐Ÿ˜

We don’t take big or fancy vacations because of our more limited budget. But I love Disney and Harry Potter so Orlando is my dream destination. We’ve been once so far this year, have 2 more trips planned, and have another 2 trips to Orlando tentatively in the works. I know that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s what I enjoy and Darling Husband is such a good sport and is happy to go. Plus we got Universal annual passes so we have to get the most use out of them so they don’t go to waste.

In the future I’d like to branch out to a bit nicer destinations.
