JLFinch:  Do you temp? Opk don’t actually confirm ovulation, only the LH surge. It’s possible you had an anovulatory cycle with a late LH surge. Could you be pregnant? OPK can also detect early pregnancy as LH and HCG are very similar. What kind of bleeding are you experiencing? It’s not AF/CD1 until it is red and flowing. Is it possible you just have spotting around O?

JLFinch:  Well, it could just be due to ovulation if that is the case! It would be too early for implantation I think. Bleeding can also happen with irritation of the cervix/old blood possible from having sex, etc.

So, as I mentioned above – the opk ‘s alone do not confirm ovulation. Unless you are getting the blood work done each cycle after a positive opk, there really isn’t any way to confirm it was ovulation or just an LH surge. Opk are great to help you know O is impending, and when to start BD – but I really recommend temping so you can confirm o!

Either way, sounds like a weird mid-cycle bleed, which isn’t totally uncommon. 2dpo often sees a secondary estrogen surge – so maybe your hormones are being crazy 🙂

JLFinch:  Sure! FX it was just due to a strong ovulation. Good luck!

After I had my son, my first two cycles post partum I had a two day luteal phase. So, I guess it can happen.

Are you taking any supplements, etc? I took vitex one cycle and had similar issues…
