I know this may not seem like a big deal to most of you, but a big part of my vision of the reception venue was to have ceiling draping/decor. It’s a big wish of mine. Trouble is, is I don’t know if the ceiling of my venue is capable of putting up the draping. I guess I really never thought about it. And I don’t know if they would let me wrap the draping around the lights that are mounted on the ceiling in fear of damaging them and I can’t put holes in the ceiling obviously. I guess i’ve only seen the draping hooked onto ceilings that had the panels, so they can hook them, or steel/metal roofs to use the magnet kind of hooks. Do any of you know a solution when you look at the pictures? Is there any kind of mounting solution that I don’t know of? Here is a picture of the venue (and sorry – I can’t figure out how to turn it around!):(

@old-hollywood: You can use a box truss to do this 🙂
My guess is it would be against fire code to wrap around the lights & could compromise them. Not sure that would work anyway?

@old-hollywood: here is your venue right side up

@old-hollywood: What is the height in that room? The picture kind of looks like you don’t have the height for a celing treatment but maybe the pic is deceiving.

I would string them up between the lights, hang your draping at the top of the chains.

@yehyehgirl: yup, bet your right about the fire code thing.
Maybe you could work from the ceiling where the lights are attached and not close to the bulb like PP suggested? Does your venue have any photos from previous receptions where they have used ceiling decor?
