@SpecialSundae: I think you should find another officiant. Sounds like this one isn’t for you.

@SpecialSundae: I don’t know why he would, and I don’t know how much people in that profession communcate with each other. If they ask, you tell them he didn’t do what you wanted so you moved on.

@SpecialSundae: I think you’ll be fine if you just go ahead and try to find a different officiant.

Im so sorry about that 🙁 Thats really hurtful and I would be stressed out and sad too. I think that since it seems like you feel really uncomfortable with him, you should search for another person to officiate (sorry…the celebrant is the one that’s officiating right? Ive never heard that term – sorry if im totally off in my assumption). You want to be totally focused on getting married and being in the moment during the cerermony – the last thing you want to be thinking about is how stressed out you are about your officiant while you’re getting married.  Sorry again 🙁

Quite honestly, you have half a year until your wedding. I doubt any officiant you find is going to spend the time memorizing your ushers’ names and ironing out exact details for your ceremony this far in advance.

Take a big, deep breath, and try not to stress so much about it. You have lots of time.

@SpecialSundae: In that case you revise and send the corrected version back. It’s really nothing to lose your appetite over. 🙂

@SpecialSundae: I think he was probably more put off by you saying that you were “disappointed that he’d taken so little interest in our day when he was one of the integral people to the day” than you simply pointing out the errors.

Anyway, find yourself a new officiant and try and relax a bit. The ceremony is super important to everyone, but rushing and working yourself into a lather to get it perfect right this instant is going to cause you way more stress than is necessary.

Take a step back and breathe….

You have  A LOT of time.

I have to agree with @linguo42: “I doubt any officiant you find is going to spend the time memorizing your ushers’ names and ironing out exact details for your ceremony this far in advance.”

Doesn’t seem like anything you need to be “heartbroken” over.

It will all be fine.
