We pulled out the 1942 and drank it on the deck.

No one else did anything, which I wouldn’t expect them to.

My dad & stepmom bought us a nice bottle of champagne and crystal champagne glasses for us to toast with at our engagement celebration dinner and to use at our wedding. Other than that, just hugs and a card or two.

We went out for breakfast burritos/day drinking with a few close friends, my mom gave us a giftcard to a restaurant, and we got a number of cards

Congratulations!!

We were on a trip when we got engaged where we stopped to see some family so we we were pretty spoiled by them (champagne when we first arrived, dinner and breakfast celebrations over the next few days) and of course did a lot of celebrating the two of us during the rest of the trip. When we got home we received some packages from friends and family afar, including a few bottles of champagne, toasting flutes, a Mr. and Mrs. tea towel, and lots of cards. From local friends and family we received celebratory bottles.

We felt we’d been fawned over enough and opted to not have an official engagement celebration.

We really didn’t do anything special to celebrate.  I can’t even remember what we did the next day, actually.  One friend did send me a giftcard to a restaurant, which I thought was very sweet and unexpected.

edit- I do remember now that we went out to dinner the next night because I remember telling the waiter we got engaged the day before.  We were really excited, but didn’t do anything out of the ordinary.

We were camping when he proposed so we had a couple days to ourselves to just enjoy/celebrate being engaged before telling anyone. We did a couple hikes (where I took a million pictures of my ring lol) and sat around the campfire at night drinking and talking about wedding stuff. It was great.

Our families were excited but no one bought us an engagement gift or anything. That’s not really something I see happen much in our circle.

That card is so cute! Congrats!

We also got a card, along with some beautiful flowers from the future in-laws.

His cousins threw us an engagement party.

ETA: correction, it was a group effort. Some of his family, some of my family and our friends threw it for us.

Congrats on your engagement!

We went out the night we got engaged for some pizza at my favourite place, but not before sharing a bottle of champagne at home. Had a meal separately with our respective parents too, also with champagne. We were going to have an engagement party early april but that didnt happen for obvious reasons, but my mum did give me some silverware she had been saving as an engagement present.
