For some random reason it occurred to me today that my parents’ 30th anniversary is next year. Since I had just graduated from college and my two sisters were still in school when my parents had their 25th anniversary, I always thought we’d do something nice for their 30th. (We did give them a gift card to a nice restaurant for their 25th, but I think that was it.)
I originally wanted to throw a party for them but I’m not sure my sisters and I are financially in a place to do so. So I’m curious to see how other bees have celebrated their parents’ anniversary and what the costs were. If you had a party, how many guests did you have and what was the budget? If you didn’t have a party, what did you do instead and what were the expenses?
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated 🙂

ShoeGal89: For my parents’ 25th, we contacted all their wedding guests for whom we could find contact information and asked them to send us a letter to be given to Mom and Dad sharing a memory of their times together.
We were fortunate that their wedding party was small, they still lived in the same town, and were still friends, so we arranged for them all to meet at a restaurant for a surprise dinner.

ShoeGal89: Hi. For my parents 30th about 3 years ago, me and my sister bought them a pearl rose for the garden (they love gardening) and they went away to Italy so we contact the hotel and bought champagne and flowers and arranged for it to be left in their room etc etc. They were really touched by all of it.
