I did a Celebrity cruise (on the Solstice, not the Summit) and it. was. amazing. We both love to cruise though, so it wasn’t a second choice for us, it was what we most love to do… be on a boat, travel to lots of different places, have fancy included dinners. Such a great trip.

Celebrity seems to be an older, more chill, more expensive crowd – we’ve been on Carnival which was overrun with kiddos, and this was perfect for a honeymoon. Romantic, lots of things to do, we upgraded to priority passengers so we had lots of great little amenities. It was perfect.

Drinks are about $10/glass or $5/beer, and I don’t drink much, so I didn’t bother with the packages. If you like to drink, the packages may be worth it.

Bring comfortable cute clothes for port, nice clothes for dinner, the upgraded dining is worth it at least once, and the excursions are fun too!

We honeymooned on a Celebrity cruise ship – the Equinox – and we had an amazing time.  Very much agree with @gatorhailey‘s observations though, the ship attracts a much older crowd.  I didn’t find that to be a problem though; it was a perfect honeymoon.  I’m not sure if the Summit has an Aqua class or not, but I highly suggest booking with the spa class, it was really nice.

I sailed on the Solstice in April and for sure it is an older crowd with Celebrity. I am also a travel agent, and I know that most of the time the age is 50+ for Celebrity and Holland America.

A cruise is a wonderful way to vacation, and since the Celebrity Summit is being Refurbished it should be very nice for you.

I know that for me, I am 44 and my best friend who sailed with me is 35. This cruise was for both of our birthdays, we boarded the day after mine and disembarked the day before hers. But we ended up in the adults only section the majority of the time in the hot tub or a lounger during the day. Sorry, I don’t go on a cruise to play bingo or bridge. The nightly entertainment was pretty good, much better than on my Carnival cruise I just took in September, where it didn’t even sound good in the Daily paper to even make me want to go, so the group I was with then would go to dinner, change into our suits and head to the adult only area on that ship, and hung out in the hot tubs until about midnight each night. It was so nice and quiet, and because we were the only ones there the barhops learned quick not to ask us about drinks, as none of us were drinking at all, other than coffee.

Go on teh cruise, have a blast, and then do an all inclusive for your anniversary!!!

We are not only date twins, but will be on the exact same ship!!  Are you leaving on June 3rd??  We booked the AquaClass room and can’t wait to check it out.

We too were originally going to Sandals La Toc and decided against it since the airfare alone was $1200!!  We’re officially saving about $3000 by doing this instead.

Trust me when I tell you that when people see your pictures of Bermuda, they will be just as jealous.  It’s BEAUTIFUL.
