I just wanted to warn all Atlanta brides that Celso’s Cakes is out of business. They closed their doors with no word to their brides. My venue who I am not happy with only contacted me after I sent them an email stating that I had been trying to get in touch with Celso’s for weeks. Now I have to start all over finding a baker and the other bakers I liked are now all booked. I know many of you will say I have 7 months, but there is much more going on than this and this is just one more nail in the coffin.
If you gave them a deposit, you can’t even find them to get your money back. I just wanted to warn everyone.

Oh wow! That is pretty crappy. If any of you are in the Stockbridge-ish area, I can give you a few recommendations. If not, there should be a lot on the bee for other areas!

I had booked them for my wedding too. Contacted my wedding planner as soon as I read this and she is going over there tomorrow to see if they are indeed gone. I have EVERY intention of finding them and taking them to small magistrate court to get my deposit back- just on principle.

You know what I just thought about!?!? If they really did close think about all those poor brides that didn’t keep their top tier expecting their “first anniversary” cake. My heart is breaking for them right now.

@lgriff2013: Yeah, I’m having my Fiance call and go over there tomorrow. I haven’t spoken to them since March, when we did our tasting.

Oh my gosh! I almost used them for our wedding cake, but decided to pick a baker closer to reception venue. Wow, so sorry you ladies lost out on this! Apparently Celso’s skipped town. Hopefully he’ll show back up and try to work this out for his customers…

Ok everyone, here is the deal-
Steps for everyone who has lost some money:
1. send them a certified letter, RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED. Asking them to contact you “upon receipt of this letter” asking about the status of your order. KEEP A COPY OF THE LETTER AND RECEIPTS FROM POST OFFICE
2. If (when) you get the letter back undelivered, contact the Norcross police AND Governor’s Office of Consumer Protection to file a complaint. Be ready to supply copies of the letter and your contract/receipt. It shows that you have made a documented attempt to contact them.
Mail the letter to:
Celso’s Cakes, Inc.
c/o Registered Agent Pavla Rodriquez
6070 Dawson Boulevard, Suite C
Norcross, GA 30093
Please share this!!!!
P.S. I am checking with the Gwinnett County Licensing Board and GA Dept of Agriculture to see if they have other addresses.

If anyone is in the northern GA area check out Honeymoon Bakery in Rome. So far they have been fantastic!

Thanks for the tips. I actually just stopped by the shop yesterday to drop off the security deposit for the cake stand, just to see the notification that they’d closed. This was really one of the top things my fiancee and I were proud about finding and excited to get to share with everybody, as far as the reception went.
