I think it’s beautiful!
@luckylady3090: Geez! That is probably the biggest photo in Wedding Bee history! I can’t figure out how to resize it…and please excuse my disgusting nails. Summer is always terrible to my cuticles.
Anyway, I originially wanted a halo with diamonds on the band, but my bf prefers none because he thinks it makes the center stone stand out more. I also like that I can pair it with a “fun” band. We fell in love with this halo (and I have searched!) because the stones in the halo are smaller, more delicate and it has a faint scallop all around the halo (possibly because there is no gold there.) I am not sure I will get the band I am wearing it with.
I am typically a person who doesn’t wear much jewelry so I am wondering if this looks too big on me. I like bold jewelry on other people, just not on me. The picture is of the ring we like with a 1 carat center. My ring size is 5.75 (which seems pretty “small” for me, considering I am 5’7 and medium build.) Anywho, what do y’all think?
I don’t think it’s too big. It’s a beautiful ring!
Its beautifully perfect
@luckylady3090: I think that it’s a beautiful size!
I have a 3ct OEC in a very dainty pave halo with a unique tulip shape & what attracted me to the setting was how dainty the pave is (more so than any other halo I’ve ever seen) & how unique the look is for being a halo which is trending right now.
Therefore, I understand wanting to keep the design interesting (which I think it part of your reasoning for omitting pave on the band). I will say though, that I actually don’t think the melee in your halo is all that small, & if the size it bothering you, you could also make the stones in the halo smaller. But, if you really like the scallop design, you’d have to stay in the stone size range that you’re currently in otherwise it wouldn’t work.
@MrsSkeletonKey: I guess I was thinking the diamonds were small based on the website pics. You are right about the diamonds in the halo, they must be larger for the scallop design. Maybe the word I am looking for is delicate since there isn’t a lot of gold and it is pretty low profile. 🙂
You will have to forgive me, but what is melee? Also, would you explain this sentence? I must be having a “brain fart.” 😉
It’s very pretty!
The center stone isn’t what’s “big” (it’s a totally great, normal, beautiful size). The halo part is what’s big. Personally – I prefer a daintier halo. It doesn’t overwhelm the center stone so much, and it looks a little bit more elegant. This is what I mean when I say a “dantier” halo.
If you notice, this has a very thin halo around the center stone. It doesn’t distract but actually adds to the look of the center stone;
Here is another one:
I think it looks perfect!
I have been lusting after a ring that exact style. You have totally convinced me to get it.
To answer your question: It’s beautiful, looks great on your hand. I do not think it’s over kill.
Everybody happy happy.
