cassiegirl : ok, I’m looking at these from my phone and not a computer but I thought the first ones you posted were a diy with fakes. Sorry but I would consider this unacceptable.
Don’t feel bad about being upset over the flowers, them and the honeymoon (crazy I know) are the two things driving me the most insane too. I told my Fiance earlier they were the bane of my existnace!!

headoverboots : DIY? Lord have mercy – definitely not the look I’m going for.

cassiegirl : based on your inspiration pics, I think you need wider, bigger vases.

cassiegirl : I agree with PP who said the bit that is out of sync between your inspiration and the mock up is the weird flower ball in the centre… your inspiration looks to be JUST orchid, and yeah, your mock up looks like a DIY version of that. Less is more sometimes with orchids, so it might be worth looking up some other inspiration pics with orchids just in case you find something that might be easier to replicate, at a reasonable cost.

I’m sorry to say it but… they make me think of octopuses! And are you saying you got a quote and now they’re increasing it by $100 PER CENTREPIECE? I’d be looking for quotes elsewhere…

I love the flowers but I’m not crazy about the vase. Also, it gets kind of lost on the dark background – maybe you need some water beads or something to jazz it up?

The hydrangeas in the middle are totally killing it for me- I see that as the big difference between that and the inspiration picture. The hydrageas look yellowed and make the look a little mucky and also less crisp that the inspiration photo. I’d also see about finding a slightly different vase- one that doesn’t taper in at the bottom.

Why is there a flower ball in the center?

You’re not being a bridezilla, your original inspiration is actually quite beautiful, albeit might turn out expensive, but hey if you can afford it more power to you. You’re right, it’s a bait and switch. They need to change the vase to the appropriate vase, and lose the ball that that they put the orchids on, it makes it look too busy and look cheap. Without it, it will look classier and less cluttered which is the look that you want. The look that you are going for is gorgeous.

Hydrangia’s and orchids do not mix well in an arrangement. The hydrangea look like a cheap filler. The first pic looks like it does not have any hydrangea’s and it is simple – but elegant as a pp said ‘cascading orchids’
I am using the tube vases for my dinner that are in your inspiration photo and they are not $$. I got 12 of them off of amazon for $65.00 and they are 24″ tall and heavy glass.
I would say be specific about what you are displeased with and try to open up communications. I just don’t think you are that far off from your real vision.

You need different vases, and use all orchids instead of a mixture. I’d say it is their issue if they misquoted you, becasue what htey gave you is not what the insp pic is.
Yeah, I would not like that at all. There is no reason asking for less flowers should cost you more.
I agree with PPs- lose the ball of flowers in the center so that it’s only orchids and get the vase in the inspo pic and you’ll be much better off.

I think they need the hydrangea as a base to give it dimension. They just aren’t using enough phalaenopsis to cover the hydrangea well enough. Of course they tell me they can remedy it if I spend more money, but this goes back to the bait and switch. If they guaranteed one thing at a certain price, they need to provide that one thing at that certain price.

cassiegirl : what are the terms of your contract with them? Can you change to a different florist?
