i’m thinking abotu centerpieces right now.  I’ve been asking friends/family if they even remeber centerpieces from all the weddings they’ve been to. no one really remembers anything hahaha but, the one thing my family remembered was at my cousins wedding last year the centerpiece was so tall we moved it from our table to the gift table so that we could see the people across the table. so, i voted low centerpiece.

@sarg88:  yeah i wanted some tall ones to go on tables that were mixed with people who didn’t know each other that well… break up some of the awkwardness of staring at each other lol

I think smaller ones are nice and simple!

I like smaller ones where people can speak to each other across the table.

@julyweddinglovebirds:  We had two styles of vases. We did milk bud vases and tall vases that were illuminated. Our tall centerpieces were also used at our ceremony and then quickly moved to the reception site. We had six tables of tall centerpieces and eight tables of short. It looked great in the room!

Tall centerpieces are very dramatic and look good in photos, short ones let people talk across the tables.

Since I think most of the “fun” of weddings involves talking to people, we are having short centerpieces.

I personally hate trying to talk across a table with a big centerpiece, and not being able to see the people accross from me. For that reason I going to have very low centerpeices. I’ve been buying vases that are no taller than six inches and they will be filled with short bunches of dahlias. I guess it doesn’t have the same dramatic impact as really tall centerpieces! But it will fit our casual wedding better anyway.
