I am trying to figure out centerpieces for my reception tables and am in some real bad help! I have purchased vases with my mom to later find out that they are the wrong height depending on what I do with them. But I bought them at goodwill so I am stuck with them and in the words of Tim Gunn, must make them work! The vases are roughtly 9 1/2 to 11 1/2 inches and vary in some small way like lines or fluting on the edges but they are all the same shape where they bow out, come back in at the top, and go out again. (I hope that made sense!) I was told adding flowers would make them super annoying for our guests, so then I was thinking floating candles with rocks in the bottom? Maybe we could dye the water our colors (orange and yellow) and scatter flower petals around them with some pictures of us in frames by it? Any ideas would be helpful!
The thing we have to be conscious of is that at our venue the candle holder must be at least three inches taller than the candle. Our colors are yellow and orange and our tables fit 8-10. The table clothes will be white, cloth napkins are yellow and all the place settings are a clear crystal.
