So, Im nuts. I have a year + before my wedding. I can’t seem to rest until I figure out my details. I am trying to keep costs down but don’t want to come off cheap or cheesy. I originally thought of doing a purple mum theme. Cheap & easy & reusable . well, i talked to two greenhouses today and they say mums will not be bloomed the first week of september, in buffalo ny-btw.
So, now im trying to figure out what to do.
Thinking about lanterns with grapevines and led lights braided around with scattered purple carnations ( not a fan of carnations but they are cheap )
Thinking about purple hydrengeas with with carnations and bear grass in a vase.
Thinking about mirrors, bowls, water, floating candles, purple marble thingys.
Has anyone done the above ideas, any pictures would be greatly appreciated.

@gailmthom: I am happy to know I am not the only “nutso” out there as my wedding is also one year + and I am trying to figure out all of the details as well…
Some ideas I’ve found have included floating candles – found this pic and I think it looks really nice plus affordable and you could use pretty much any flower (including purple hydrangeas). I have also seen some nice hydrangea centerpieces…the nice thing is they can be affordable and look nice (you only need a few to fill a vase)…I have seen some really nice pics of hydrangea (and other centerpiece flowers) here in the gallery under centerpieces. I also have seen flower boxes, some with grass and other compartments of in-season flowers. I thought they were neat and different! Just some ideas I’ve seen – good luck with planning!!

i have a friend that used potted flowers as her centerpieces. they used cheap terracotta pots and painted them and planted multiple different purple inexpensive flowers in each pot as well as fragant things like lavender and tied a wide ribbon around them. it was very pretty and didnt cost them very much
