@bRiDe1011:  I see from your other post that you are using black and turquoise as your colors. Do you have any theme to go along with the color scheme? Are you planning on using floral centerpieces? What type of venue do you have?

I am a little anxious about my centerpieces as well. My so called theme would be considered an “urban chic winter wedding.” I received 16 hurricane vases for free and I feel stuck. I don’t want to purchase centerpieces for guests tables since these were free but I too am having a hard time with ideas, especially since I can’t use real candles inside the venue. 

I think using high centerpieces on every other table, and low centerpieces on the others are perfectly fine. Below is an example I googled, its really pretty and probably saves a bit of money as well:
