I’m having a tough time envisioning how our reception space is going to look; most of our decisions have been pretty easy, but for some reason the reception space decorations have been really tough for me to figure out. The attached chapel space comes with its own decorations and is really lovely – except for the tulle pew bows, I might do something else with those.
I’ve seen the ballroom set up with the venue’s white linens and navy table overlays, and I think I will rent those. (Our colors are navy, plum and rose) The carriage light centerpieces that you can rent from them don’t “feel” quite right to me.
The DJ we will most likely be going with will throw in 10 colored uplights, which I think will contribute to the space very nicely. The ballroom also has these lighted trees that I think will be nice for an evening reception (you can see part of one on the left side of the above photo).
I’m not sure I want to use candles or table lights as the ballroom is already an intimate space and with the tree lights and uplights will have enough mood lighting.
I received a quote for a floral centerpiece based on the below photo (but in our colors and a silver bowl), but am not sold that is what I want to do. I do know that I want to have shorter centerpieces so people can mingle and chat across the tables.
Any thoughts or suggestions? We don’t have a theme; we’re just trying to keep it looking timeless and classy.
