I went to Michael’s today and all their vases were $3, reg $4.99 to $8.99! Not one to pass up a deal, I bought a bunch, ran to Dollarama and mocked up a centrepiece. I need suggestions though! This is a rough mock up– I didn’t have enough rocks for the larger containers, want bigger floating candles and am not sure what to use as a base (mirror….not a huge fan, but will it be brighter and worth it? or perhaps a tree slice, cause I LOVE trees and they are part of our decor/invites/guest book/etc). Also, should I use straight rocks or add in the glass pebbles? Any other suggestions, like what to put in the small holders? (All I had was tea lights, the holders from our bedroom and some sand that I threw in as an experiment).
Here are some pictures…
With or without coloured glass stones?

Anyone at all? Suggestion? Hint? Tips? I am no designer so it would be awesome 🙂

I think it looks cool! Nice job 🙂

I like it as is. I think it would look lovely on tablecloth, no need to add a base IMO. I like the mono tone look of the plain rocks the best, makes the green of the leaf really stand out. Good job!!!

I prefer just regular stones. I’m also not a huge fan of the smallest container. It seems out of place compared to the three larger vases. I think your centerpieces will be really fun and unique.
Side note: I think I have the same table as you 🙂

I like it with the plain rocks, I am not a fan of the glass stones for weddings.
Are the leaves artificial? What type are they?
I think it is great for a quick mock up, although, I like the wood, so I would be interested to see what it looks like on the wood slice base. 🙂

I like it! I prefer the coloured glass stones, but I don’t know that I like the little glass container. It looks out of place with the bigger ones.

@asscherlover:The containers just happened to be ones I had in my room. I agree that they look a bit funky. I am on the hunt to find something that suits it a bit more! PS. I HATE THAT TABLE. If you ever move, don’t let it touch ANYTHING or the plastic top rubs off into white nothingness and the chairs scratch like crazy.
@CholeLeAnn: The leaves are from our money tree which is 5 ft tall. I think my Fiance almost died when I cut off three leaves, but I told him I wanted to see what it would look like with foliage. Not sure if we are going to use those leaves, but I was suprised with the result once it was put in!
@random7890: I agree with the small glass container. It’s all I had at the moment though. Our venue allows candles as long as the flame is within the container (i.e. a pillar candle would have to have a flame below the rim of the contianer) so I am going to go on the hunt for something that might work.

I love it! And I vote FOR the colored glass stones.
