Hey all… So if you’ve seen my other posts, I am having an outdoor "garden" wedding… my main colour will be white, with splashes of eggplant and purple orchids :). I need some ideas for my (new) centre peices, sticking with the outdoors-ey/ nature-ey theme. Since you ladies are so great at finding amazing inspiration, I thought I’d start here! Thanks for your help bees!

Here are two, the first is a little more traditional, the second a little more contemporary:

How about fruit centerpieces? you could have a vase full of plums, use bird cages and fill them with wildflowers. The possibilities are endless!

I’m making my own centerpieces but don’t have all the details decided on yet. It sounds like our weddings are similar – mine will be an outdoor ceremony/possibly reception too, and I’m doing orchids as the main flower and thinking of a purple wine/champagne color scheme. I’ve been buying tall glass vases on sale at Michaels and want to do a submerged orchid centerpiece. They’re very elegant so you don’t need a lot of blooms. Right now I’m trying to decide on silk versus buying from a wholesaler like Costco. I like the idea about the plums too!

You could do pillar candles (like citrus, lavender, or something else that keeps the bugs away) of different heights and then place random orchid blooms among them. You could take a floating bowl with candles and float an orchid or two.
