Following : having similar problem with mason jars and was given book idea as well  .Fiance teaches 3rd grade but I’m  sure copies of Judy Blume won’t be ideal πŸ˜‰ lol. I have seen lots of tree cut outs. .was also wondering myself what I could do with like a small crate type box..pallet like? With a fabric overlay but need to start looking what’s out there. Lanterns are super cute

You could use books wrapped in coordinating fabric or paper. Then you’d get the height without people asking what you thought of War and Peace.

Honestly no one cares about centerpieces.  If you want them to pop a bit more, put 3 in the middle of the table instead of 1.  You also do not want centerpieces so large that people can’t see over them.

I’m thinking of using these lanterns as well. I’ve seen brides raise all sorts of things with a beautiful candlestick.

I searched “IKEA lantern wedding” on Pinterest and some ideas popped up. You can use anything and cover it with florals.

What about a clay saucer (the kind that go under a plant) spray painted and flipped upside down?

I was looking on Pinterest for lantern centerpieces and it looks like lots of people put flowers all around the bases – I saw some with babies breath that look gorgeous. You could raise them on whatever you want, then if you don’t like how the riser looks, hide it with flowers!

kannj2007:  Go to a craft store, the big box hardware stores etc, and just look around. You can use anything you like the look of. I always go with an open mind and try to find something on sale or even clearance.

Something like this block of wood can be found unfinished, add the legs and stain the color of your choice.

you can buy a plain box

use a lantern stand

you can craft DIY stands with crystal candlesticks from the dollar store and the plate of your choice. Use E6000 glue
