Hope me you’re well. It’s been sometime since I post the bridesmaid kerfuffle. Now resigned myself to 2bm, 2jbm and 2fg – God forbid my pregnant sister/moh has a girl. I can’t afford another flipping dress 😂
This is post is about my centerpieces. We habe a beautiful, blank canvas of a wedding venue.
i bought these blue lanterns on a whim for our centerpieces but given that they are no higher than a champagne flute, feel they might be underwhelming. i want to raise them Up a few inches to get the most out of them..
my friend suggested books but my partner and I aren’t big readers so it’d be either books we havent read or one per table.. 😁😳
i know now how creative u guys are so if you have any ideas or already did something similar I’d love to hear/see them!!

Following : having similar problem with mason jars and was given book idea as well .Fiance teaches 3rd grade but I’m sure copies of Judy Blume won’t be ideal 😉 lol. I have seen lots of tree cut outs. .was also wondering myself what I could do with like a small crate type box..pallet like? With a fabric overlay but need to start looking what’s out there. Lanterns are super cute

You could use books wrapped in coordinating fabric or paper. Then you’d get the height without people asking what you thought of War and Peace.

I like the tree cut outs but we arent rustic people at aaaaall so have ruled it out.
like the box/fabric idea!
covering them I fabric would certainly turn the attention away from there being 6 copies of the bfg, on Gary Barlow autobiography and a Steve jobs AB.. 😂

Honestly no one cares about centerpieces. If you want them to pop a bit more, put 3 in the middle of the table instead of 1. You also do not want centerpieces so large that people can’t see over them.

I’m sure no one else does but I do.
i don’t wNt them in the au of people’s faces, just slightly higher than the glasses.

I’m thinking of using these lanterns as well. I’ve seen brides raise all sorts of things with a beautiful candlestick.
I searched “IKEA lantern wedding” on Pinterest and some ideas popped up. You can use anything and cover it with florals.

What about a clay saucer (the kind that go under a plant) spray painted and flipped upside down?

Oooh, clay saucer is clever 👏🏻👏🏻

I was looking on Pinterest for lantern centerpieces and it looks like lots of people put flowers all around the bases – I saw some with babies breath that look gorgeous. You could raise them on whatever you want, then if you don’t like how the riser looks, hide it with flowers!

Go to a craft store, the big box hardware stores etc, and just look around. You can use anything you like the look of. I always go with an open mind and try to find something on sale or even clearance.
Something like this block of wood can be found unfinished, add the legs and stain the color of your choice.
you can buy a plain box
use a lantern stand
you can craft DIY stands with crystal candlesticks from the dollar store and the plate of your choice. Use E6000 glue

theres no really big hardware stores around here but I’m sure I can find one – love the little tables 😍
