Hello! I am DIYing my invitations and am stuck on what to write for the reception. My ceremony and reception are at the same site… At the bottom of the invitation, should I write “Reception to follow”… or “Reception to follow immediately”… or soemthing compeltely different. Should I indicate that it will be at the same site? Thanks!

I’m just adding something along the lines of “Dinner and Dancing to follow” etc. I think they’ll get the idea from that.

I’m doing the same. I chose “Dinner and Dancing to follow” and below that I wrote “Adult Reception Only” I did not want to repeat Reception twice but either one of your choices works

Thanks for your responses!
We aren’t having dancing… Would it sound weird to just have “Dinner to follow”?

Yeah… You could just go with “Reception to follow”. That would work out fine. I put dinner and dancing because it sounded more fun to me.

Yeah… sounds kind of blahh but I don’t know if I care at this point… I just want to get these things done! Thanks for your input!

I tried to jazz things up a bit and put “Food and merriment to follow”- I had seen it on some other invites and liked it.

I have the same situation, and just added a line that said “Reception to follow immediately after”

I think “Reception to follow” is a perfect solution

I used “Reception immediately following Ceremony” on ours.

We aren’t really planning for dancing at our reception either—just background music playing and maybe a few dances between my husband and I. Since we are having wood smoked bbq for dinner and pie and other sweets for dessert instead of cake we put, “Wood smoked BBQ and sweet treats to follow”. I thought it was cute and fit with our invite and the less formal type of wedding we are having.

I recently received an invitation that simply said “reception to follow immediately”. Simple and I got the idea.

@Curlysue: That’s really cute. Wouldn’t fit with mine, but I would think it was cute if I received an invite that had that printed on it. 🙂
I think right now in the template I made, it says “Reception to follow immediately”. It just sounds so business-y! 🙂 I may just leave it or cut out “immediately”. I don’t know if the “Food and merriment to follow” would fit with the style of the invitation(even though I like that idea!).

Eat. Drink. Merriment.
And there’s also further information online so our bases are covered.

I like Join us for a Celebration of our Union immediatly after ceremony… or some other wording but I like the celebration of our union part.
