Hi Bees! FI and I are having a winter ceremony and reception at a fab restaurant in Chicago (anyone been to the Publican?).
I’ve just realized, of course, that 1) I’m terrible at DIYs (got frustrated spray-painting wine bottles gold and that’s supposed to be eaaaaassy), and 2) we need a ceremony backdrop for our venue.
Here’s what it looks like when you’re looking from the point of view of a guest. We’ll be getting married in front of the bar/kitchen, which is at the end of the picture. There are better photos out there if you search “Publican wedding,” but I don’t want to steal anyone’s pics!
Suggestions on cheap or easy to make backdrops for this venue?? We’re having a morning brunch wedding, if that helps. Thanks, Bees!

what about some sort of ribbon backdrop
or you could do a sheer fabric with lights behind
or maybe even something like this

@weddingbound: Thank you! Hadn’t even considered lights, but they look great!! Would love to see some Bees photos — already got one Bee’s instructions for the ribbon backdrop. Thanks, weddingbound 🙂

@aekc: Have you decided on any theme, colors or feel you want for your wedding?

@julies1949: Our colors are dark green/dark blue/charcoal, and it will be an elegant morning wedding — does that count as a theme? Nothing over the top — just simple, urban rustic (don’t even know if that one makes sense!). 🙂

aekc: what did you end up doing? I’m doing a ceremony+reception at Luxbar and have been trying to figure out the backdrop thing myself!
