We are having our ceremony in a theater. Now the theater is beautiful and in my opinion does not need much decoration. However, I would really like to have a little something on the stage to dress it up. I can’t seem to come up with something that is both simple and matches the style of the theater. Any suggestions?
Here is what the inside of the theater looks like:

I suggest checking out event rental places in your area and seeing what they have, at least to give you ideas. With an open stage in a beautiful room like that you could honestly do nothing and it would look great, but maybe you want to add something to draw the eye toward the center? Are you keen on standing floral arrangements? Maybe candelabras? If you are doing a sand/candle/etc. ceremony you could have a table to put things on in the center and dress up the table a bit.
I was in the same boat a month ago though. Our venue is a church that was converted to a community theater, so it is like a big stage in an open room. We wanted enough decor to make it look like a wedding but nothing in-your-face or overdone. The thing that helped me was making mockups in photoshop so I could better visualize what the decor would look like. Here is a mockup of what we are leaning toward:
They sell votive screens at Walmart for cheap so we are using those kind of as a backdrop against the black curtain and then adding some low key floral arrangements to add color.

Is there an aisle? I can’t tell & it looks like the chairs go all the way across? If so you could do some really pretty decor on the aisle.
Honestly girl, I think you need nothing, its so beautiful and dramatic on its own. Do they happen to have different color backdrops? If so, you could find a more dramatic color and possibly to some uplighting to show off the drop. IMO putting flowers on the stage will look sparse, unless you have alot of decor.
But take a look at this, no decor, so dramatic & the BMs dresses almost serve as the decor with their pop of color!

How about getting some tall trees to put on either side of the stage

Thanks guys those are all great ideas!
@AnnieAAA That picture is awesome! I’m sure they have different colored backdrops, I’ll ask next time I speak with them.

@ Rachel Leigh, are you interested in selling your screens after? We are also at the Walters Cultural Arts center, and I love that idea!

How about having a video or slide show of flowers projected onto the screen, it may not work depending on the type of projection they use. The flowers could end up being projected on your dress.
