Do you have a theme or style for your wedding? What type of venue? Day or evening ceremony? What kind of chairs?

@HollyT:  Is there a theme for the wedding and the reception?  A certain color or something?  If you have chairs using Tule and draping it down the isle brings a sence of importance to the area.  You can then include either an isle runner or some flower pedals.

Give more info on the wedding itself so we can all help with some great ideas.

@HollyT:  thanks for the info- it sounds very pretty. Some of the ideas may have to be adapted to a winter wedding.

You could make or rent two large trees to have at the altar area. Id you are a DIY’er, you get large branches, spray paint them, brush on glue and apply plastic ice crystals. Use plaster of paris to secure them in a container of your choice. Make blocks of your colors on the floor using silk petals.

I love the rustic look of these- using just baby’s breath makes it an easy DIY- you could use more elegant silver containers

you could use pastel silk hydrangeas with white or silver colored branches, with glitter

you could rent cherub type statues for the altar area

you could get frames from the dollar store-  spray paint them in your colors, and hang pics of you and the groom or even include family members

you can make large pomanders from silk flowers and line the edge with petals

you can also make beautiful pomanders from cupcake liners- luckily  for you they come in silver

@HollyT:  A Winter Wonderland.  Lighting is the key when you are doing a winter theme wedding. As Julies1949 says, get some branches and paint them silver and add some sparkle.  You can use them as table decorations in the isle during the ceremony.  Since it is an evening weddin using candles creates a great ambiance for the room(s).
