I would contact the church to see what their restrictions are as far as decorations within the church. I know we are not allowed to use anything that covers or hides the cross above the altar.  Is there any way to tell your photographer that you would prefer to do your posed formal shots elsewhere?

I don’t know what the set up in your church, but ours has this hideous wood paneling (covering up the baptizing pool).  My Future Sister-In-Law is getting married there this summer and she is having a slightly sheer tulle and silver lining hanging up in a nice curtain type fashion along the entire back wall.

I just recently went to a wedding where they had a lovely screen made of pages from the bible. They literally included the whole bible in their screen. It was gorgeous. Here is a pic to give you an idea.

Ahh I’m gonna have to shrink it. hold on…

P.S. The tan colored thing in front of the bible screen was a knitted piece that the bride made. It was so pretty. Also, they had a string quartet who sat behind the screen. You could see their sillhouettes behind it as the bride was walking down. This is definitely something to consider! πŸ™‚

Also, if nothing else, ask your photographer if they can do effects that would focus you and your Fiance in the alter pictures and blur out the background.  It can be done, and that way cartoon Jesus won’t be in the background! πŸ˜‰

The pages were taped together. You couldn’t tell that they were taped at all! Then, they hung it across rope that was attached to the ceiling. The rope could be lowered and raised very easily for easy hanging access. I hope that helps! πŸ™‚ If they won’t allow you to add a couple of hooks in the ceiling, then I am sure that we can get creative and figure out another way to hang it! πŸ™‚ It was definitely a piece that everyone noticed and loved. People went up and read different parts. It was really cool!
