Ok so we are getting married in Sioux Falls, SD so our venue choices are sort of limited. We found a place we loved for our reception and are going to go and tour it on April 11th to get details finalized, but my dilemma is, we can have the ceremony at this same site but they want to set it up for the reception(tables and chairs) and have the guests sit at the tables for the ceremony. I dont really like this idea because their would be no wow factor when it came time for the reception because they have already seen the room set for the reception. When i asked about doing a room setup change so that we could have a traditonal ceremony setup(chairs in rows facing forward) the event coordinator made a big deal about how she would have to charge me more(which is fine) and that it would take between 1-1.5 hours to do the change over. I have not seen the venue so I dont know if we could possibly move guests to another area for a 1-1.5 hour cocktail hour while they do the room change or if we would have to make guests leave while they do the change over, but which would you do? Keep the room set for the reception or pay the extra money and do a room setup change? Any advice is appreciated and sorry for the rambling!
