@marinewife4:  Well, honestly, it doesn’t sound like you care either way that it is 45 minutes away because that’s what your budget can uphold, so that is what its going to be. Why collect opinions if you know you won’t accomodate those guests anyway? If they really want to be there, they will come.

I attended a wedding with similar timing to this.. it was boring. The ceremony was lovely but after the fact, the momentum was lost and people got tired. We had to wait around for 3-4 hours before finding our own transportation to the venue…

@marinewife4:  Well, that leaves me baffled. Why did you ask for opinions then?

if this is in your budget and what you plan to do, don’t worry what other people think.

those that want to be there will, those that don’t, won;t.

@marinewife4:  My ceremony is about 10-15 minutes away from our reception. All of the hotels we are suggesting are either at the reception site or less than a mile from our reception and they all have shuttle service. I get that people might be angry that they have to drive from our ceremony to our reception but we didn’t like the ceremony area that our reception place offered.

Our cocktail hour is also starting about 5 minutes after the guests arrive at the reception area so hopefully they won’t be too upset.
