How many of you waiting bees have thought about the “type” of ceremony you would like to share with your SO?
I have a couple of ideas, I’m much more outgoing and have a bunch of people I associate with and a few real “friends” my SO has two really good friends and that’s it. He’s either you’re a friend, or some “dude” I just talk with. In getting the guest list together, I have roughly 75 people I’d like to invite and he’d only invite family that his parents have him invite. So it’s made me consider having a very intimate ceremony in a hotel room. Meaning, my parents, his parens and brother and then my best friend and his best friend standing up for us. Then throwing a big party for all friends and family to celebrate with us later that day. But then I want everyone there to share with us at the same time… I’m so torn!
So waiting bees, what type of ceremony fits you and your SO’s personality and style?

I imagine that our wedding will be quick and to the point. We’ll try to hit all of the traditional highlights, but nothing extravagant. Then….WE PARTY. We’re both big on fun and family, so I imagine the reception will be lively and lonnnngggg into the night. I have seven bridesmaids on deck. That’s a little more than I’d like, but he has an equal number of guys, so I suppose it will work. 🙂

SO and I have actually discussed ceremony possibilities even though engagement is a ways off yet.
We will probably have both a Church Ceremony as well as a Tea Ceremony (SO is Asian). SO wants a rather large reception with lots of extended family and friends, but I’d prefer something smaller. We both come from larger families and VERY large extended families, so while I love the idea of something very small and intimate, it’s nearly impossible!

I am thinking small and intimate… with just his family and my family. I have quite a few friends, but not really a BEST friend per se. Plus… I have this stigma that surrounds me (I called off a circus of a wedding 2 years ago) so I just think small would be nice. Nothing over the top, just sweet and simple for me 🙂
