Okay so we’re doing a 1940s themed wedding. I’m thinking of renting our local aviation museums airplane hangar to have the reception in. Now I could probably have the ceremony in the hangar and just readjust the tables and chairs and such for the reception but I was wondering if I should have the ceremony part in front of the hangar door somehow. It depends on the weather in March. Any suggestions?

@katiecat08: You would probably know better thn I wht the weather will be like.
Pros and cons for an outdoor wedding would also include:
is it an active aiport? your vows may be drowned out
great photo opps if you can get a couple of pilots to cooperate re where they park their planes
the hangar gives you a background for your entrance

@katiecat08: LOVE the photos that @julies1949: has provided. But alas nothing to add.
I have all sorts of visions come to mind for a 1940s themed Reception (this could be majorly cool in an Old Hanger I would think)
I will be following this post, and your future topics to see how this all develops. It truly sounds like an AWESOME Wedding theme !!

I’ve got nothing to contribute except that sounds like such an awesome theme – I’m immediately envisioning aviator/Howard Hughes/ old Hollywood glamour.
