You can probably find some silk and use those, or line it with something unique to you and your personality (Mrs. Avocado used buttons I believe).  I’m assuming the ceremony is indoors; if it’s outdoors I love the look of the shepards hooks holding pomander balls of pretty blooms.

I would do candles and silk roses for an indoor aisle. We had an outdoor ceremony and lined it with silk roses, shepherds hooks with hanging paper lanterns and tulle. It turned out great.

Here is an indoor aisle with candles and roses and its beautiful

Here is one similar to what we did but with the lanterns hanging on hooks and not the chairs: http://www.weddingbee.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/25/s10102301.jpg

Do you already have an aisle runner?  You could do a beautiful pattern along the edges. I know there are etsy vendors that make them and many bees have used them.

were doing ropes (garlands) of carnantions strung along the chairs.  We are making them ourselves the day before the wedding.

PrettyKitty — does that mean that people will have to enter from the "outside" … I was wondering about that for my wedding. It’s inside and the room isn’t very pretty and the chairs aren’t very pretty either, but I was wondering if people think it would be weird to force them to enter from the outside rather then the aisle.

Hi Humarock- Yes, people will be forced to enter from the outside.  I’ve been to a couple weddings where the only people to walk down the center ailse are the parents/grandparents, bridal party, groom, officant and bride.  I really like it, but its not for everyone.

I hadn’t thought about it, but I like the idea of only special people get to walk down the aisle 🙂  The only thing I could see as a problem is when everyone is exiting — it might get crowded, hmm … something new to keep me up at night 🙂

I like the entering from the outside. Interesting. PrettyKitty- How exactly are you making your garland?

Oh my goodness, Mrs. Leopard, that aisle, and your wedding in general, were gorgeous! I am definitely doing it. How beautiful. We, too, plan to use orchids in our wedding, and we are doing a stone ceremony, so it will be perfect. We, too, will use potted tropical plants to decorate the ceremony site. How beautiful!!!
