I’m probably not the best to answer, but here is what I understand this to be:

Prelude is just music playing while everyone enters, gets settled, etc.

Interlude would be the music/soloist/whichever, while you are signing the marriage document.

Also, you can include any other things you like, such as readings, lighting of the unity candles, etc.

my two cents:

Prelude- is this the part where guests enter? (yes. have 4-6 songs prepared for this. about a half hour before the ceremony starts.)

*Seating of the grandparents if you have any attending.

Seating of the mothers

Bridesmaids Processional

Bride’s Processional

*The pastor/person doing your vows usually says something about marriage before the vows, either a blessing or a liturgy. or a charge. You could also do some readings here.

Exchange of Vows

Exchange of Rings

Unity Candle Ceremony – tip – unless you want to be standing up there awkwardly for 3:30, pick a part of a song you like, not the entire song, to be played.

Postlude- exit of the wedding party

*You might want to add a few extra songs here, so the guests aren’t leaving in silence.
