Assuming you can afford it and the location 2 people will set up for you, I’d go with that one!

2 is way pretty, but I would caution you against any gap longer than a 1.5 hour cocktial hour anyway. As a guest, I’d be pretty pissed if a ceremony was at 3 and the reception wasn’t until 6. Honestly, 1.5 hours is plenty of time to take pictures. I’ve been married twice and only had 1 hour both times (and the first time, we also had to travel in that hour). I have TONS of pictures.

@Pinkmoon:  Won’t most people have to take off at least half the day to make it to a 6pm reception anyway?

I get your concerns about rush hour. Just amke sure guests are well fed and watered and will always have a place where they are supposed to be.

I would definately go with Location 1! As a guest, I hate a big gap between the ceremony and reception. I have to get all ready, watch a short ceremony and then I never know what to do with a couple hour gap in between. Ugh. So that alone would be reason to choose Location 1.

Other benefits of Location 1 include that it’s so much easier for both you and your guests if you have everything in one location. And I love cocktail hours, so I would be kinda bummer to miss one if you picked the second location. And the second location is hellah expensive and the first location is free!

It seems like there are tons of benefits of Location 1 and the only real benefit of Location 2 is that you get more pretty pictures. I would talk to your photog about timing. If you do all the pictures that you can before hand, then you should have plenty of time to do the couple portraits and group shots after the ceremony.
