Does anyone have any recommendations for musicians for the ceremony/cocktail hour? We are not looking to spend too much for the 2 hrs. And, there isn’t anything specific I am looking for. Guitarist and violinist maybe? Or a harpist? And does anyone know what the average prices are?
Would love to hear everyone’s recommendations. Thanks in advance!

I’m weighing in from LA, but I actually just booked my ceremony musicians. I originally wanted a string quartet, but we booked a piano trio instead – piano, violin, and cello. It sounds beautiful!
I went to a wedding a few months ago that had a string quartet, and it really made me rethink getting the same. And after hearing the piano trio and how much a difference having a piano (or a harp for that matter) makes, I’m glad I changed my mind.
Price in LA for ceremony + reception was $800. We chose ceremony only for $600. I saw other musicians for comparable prices.

my ceremony musicians were a cellist and violinist from the longy school of music in cambridge. they were great!
here’s their contact info:
If you contact them, tell them that Joanne from the July wedding in the Public Gardens recommended them to you. Thanks!
They only cost me $100 per performer.

We’re using Allegro Chamber Players, which is a string trio (flute, violin, and cello) plus they have a soloist and trumpet if you want. We’re just using them (plus the soloist) for our ceremony and it’s about $800. I think if you use them without the soloist it’s $600. We interviewed several different groups, and found ACP to be the most professional and best musically (the soloist is amazing!).

Hi– you probably have already taken care of this! But in case you are still looking, my fiance is finishing his Master’s at the New England Conservatory and has plenty of experience playing weddings. He is a violist and could play solo, or get a couple of people together. I know I’m biased, but he’s very professional and a great player!
