So we are planning a fun yet somewhat traditional wedding. We want to make sure that everyone in our wedding party is feeling included in our celebration. SO we decided that each member gets to pick a 30-45 sec blurb of a song of their choice to walk down the isle to. This is to add a touch of their personality to the day. Has anyone seen this before? What are your thoughts?

I actually really like the idea! I’d just be worried about the flow of each song into the next, and the tone it sets for the ceremony…like, if one person chooses a Simon & Garfunkel song and the next person Metallica and the next the 1812 Overture…it’s going to be a little weird. Maybe you could give them a “theme” to pick within? Like, everyone choose a Beatles song, or everyone choose a classical piece from the Baroque period, or whatever fits you/your ceremony. Or, could you use their song of choice but the Vitamin String Quartet (or similar) version? I think that would work wonderfully.
If you really want to use the original songs and give each person their full pick, have you thought about using that for their reception introductions instead? The tone/flow there is not as important as it is during the ceremony.
