We let the church choose the prelude.  The bridal party will enter to Debussy Arabesque #1 for Piano and the Bridal Entrance will be to Canon in D on the Piano.  I can’t remember the name of the Recessional though.  It was on a CD the church gave us.

I like your choice for the recessional! It’s got a great feel to it!

We used

“I Will” – The Beatles – Bridesmaid processional

on the piano, but could easily be done on the guitar

We had 4 bridesmaids and a 40′ aisle

“So Are You To Me” – Eastmountainsouth – Bridal Processional

Also on just the piano (but boy did I want the violin part)

Timed it for me to start my walk at the start of the 2nd verse.

We had a church wedding so we had doors (doors opened at the first line of the 2nd verse)… BUT I just attended a wedding where they had the ushers/usherettes stand like a “wall” to block being able to see the bride until the right time… it was pretty effective.

Family Seated: It’s Your Day – Yiruma

Bridesmaids: A River Flows in You – Yiruma

Bridal Entrance: Bridal March – Jonathan Cain

Recessional: Down – Jay Sean

@jillieb: Our aisle seemed pretty short too… and then we measured it. lol

That particular Beatles song was just the right length for the 4 Bridesmaid or Best Man, flower girl (7 y/o), and ring bearer (6 y/o)

And then with the way we timed my song I finished my walk just as they were finishing the song… (and I walked kinda fast)

If you use an instrumental version then you can easily fade out at whatever time the girls finish so you don’t have to play the whole song

And YOUR song can really be as long as you want… just delay the start of your actual walking to let the song play some =)

Vitamin String Quartet does classical-sounding covers of contemporary songs. Definitely YouTube them, they’ve got tons of amazing stuff. We played a lot of their songs while our guests were being seated before the ceremony.

Then I used “The Book of Love” sung by Peter Gabriel as my processional.
