Need your help!
I am working on my music selections for the ceremony. I absolutely love “Hoppipolla” by Sigur Ros and want to walk down the aisle to it. We have a pianist that knows how to play it. But I am not sure what other music selections would go with it for the processionals of bridal party, grandparents, etc. I don’t know if it’s okay to mix tradional or classic songs with something that is more indie especially since our ceremony isn’t neccesarily having an indie flair.
Here’s the song if you’re not sure what it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xA42GC-grPo
So what are your thoughts bees? What songs do you think would go with Sigur Ros? Or what songs did you choose for your wedding?

I just posted about our songs 🙂 I don’t think you have to have any sort of indie flair to use those sorts of songs. I have a pretty traditional wedding ceremony, but just didn’t feel “right” walking down the aisle to a classic wedding song. So whether or not you use more indie music or traditional music or a combination, just try to pick things that you like and kind of go together. I wouldn’t have liked something that was very quiet and instrumental followed by something loud and crazy, if that makes sense. I like Sigur Ros and think you could deifnitley find some other songs that would work well with their stuff. Then I think it’s fine to really mix stuff together at the reception.

I’m walking down the Isle to Hoppipolla!
My bridesmaids are walking down to “Thistled Spring” by Horse Feathers (maybe, its not really a love song at all, but ti’s so beautiful)
So far….that is all I have.

I’m not doing traditional songs either! The bridal party is walking down to the instrumental version of “Kissing You” (the song that plays in Romeo and Juliet when Leo looks at Claire Danes through the fish tank)
I’m walking down to “Forever” by Ben Harper
Then our recessional is “Walking on a Dream” by Empire of the Sun.
Honestly I feel like almost every other detail for the wedding is us trying to make everyone else happy and this is the one detail that we are only pleasing ourselves on. I love it and I wouldn’t want it any other way!

I love Sigur Ros, so I say do it! I want to walk down to “phone call” from the movie Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. It’s also nontraditional, but very me.
