I am having our string trio play good old Pachelbel’s Canon for the entire processional (parents, bridal party, bride/father entrance).  I’ve been dreaming of walking down the aisle to this song.  They will be playing All You Need Is Love by The Beatles right after we are pronounced husband and wife and during the entire recessional.

I let the DJ play whatever he wanted for prelude music. I have absolutely no idea what he played as I wasn’t out there. I’m assuming he looked at our picks for the rest of the ceremony and went with a similar vibe.

We played one song for the processional (grandparents, parents, groom, wedding party). – an instrumental version of “I’m Yours” by Jason Marz.

One song for me (the bride) – an instrumental version of “Lucky” by Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz.

And one song for the recessional – “I Love You Will Still Sound the Same” by Oh Honey.

We’re doing I’m Yours (Jason Mraz) for the groom and bridal party entrance and I’ll walk down to Canon in D. We have a violin + guitar duo playing.

I had the harpist play Halo (Beyonce) for the mothers of the bride and groom, groom with groomsmen and bridal party’s entrance. Honestly, the entrance for all those people was very quick so only one song was needed.

The harpist played a traditional Bridal March for my entrance.

hillputaringonit :

For prelude music we chose a list of movie theme songs, version without vocals.   We timed it for about twenty minutes worth of music.

For the Groom and his Best Man, who walked in together, we used

Mark Knopfler Wild Theme ,

Then

Klazz Brothers Meets Cuba, Air for the officiant and Best Woman

then for my mom and I, we used

Pietro Mascagni’s Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana

We’re doing things a bit differently…

I’m only having a Maid/Matron of Honor, and Fiance is having a Best Man (his brother). No groomsmen or bridesmaids.

Also, we’re going to have our immediate family members standing up at the chuppah with us (my mom, my dad, Maid/Matron of Honor, his mom, dad, brother and brother’s girlfriend.

So they are effectively going to be our wedding party and we will probably only need one song for everyone.

It’s going to be a song called “Space They Cannot Touch” by an Australian artist named Kate Miller-Heidke…and it’s pretty long (about 4 1/2 minutes).
