So I’m meeting with the church music lady tonight. We are supposed to discuss music for the ceremony (catholic). I feel completely unprepared for this meeting and have no idea what I want. Because it’s a Catholic church we can’t use secular music as far as I know. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Pretty pretty please? 🙂

I love Canon D by Pachabel (spelling?). I’m using it for my processional.

I love this song.

Cannon in D is the only catholic processional song known to me. My sister used it so I was hoping there was something else I could use.

I have a friend from Church who offered to sing Ave Maria during communion. If that’s not a classic Catholic song, I don’t know what is! 🙂 Good luck picking your songs!

Thanks so much ladies!
@ATHfallbride Ava Maria is totally a classic catholic song, but i’m scared to use it. My (very religious) grandmother used to sing it over and over when her alzheimers got really bad, so they played it at her funeral and it was so sad! I think it would be a total tear fest.

What kind of feel do you want your mass to have? Traditional and meditative? Light and contemporary? Upbeat and energetic? Peaceful?
