Hi bees! I’m having a heck of a time trying to figure out what songs to do for our wedding ceremony. I’ve always pictured myself walking down the aisle to “Canon in D” (kind of cliche, I know, but I love it!!) but I have no idea what to do for when the party walks down or after me and new-hubby walk back down the aisle together (I know there are terms for the song orders, but it’s way past my bedtime so my brain has shut down for the day.)
At this point, I’m looking for just the melody and no lyrics. We are also not hiring anyone to do our music (we are on a tight budget) so we’ll have to put our music on a CD to be played. Any lovely songs (without lyrics) that compliment “Canon in D?”
Thanks for any help!! 🙂

I’ve played at some wedding ceremonies and canon in d is a favorite for the processional. Other instrumentals that I’ve done include Jesu joy of man’s desiring by bach, trumpet voluntary by clarke, and air from water music by handal.

Could you please show us the version of the Canon in D you are going to play? If it’s got piano, having any songs with piano in it are plenty to find.
Since you are having a wedding in the fall, maybe try Vivaldi’s Autumn movement from The Four Seasons?
… or jazz it up by finding an instrumental version of “At Last”. There are many versions out there but my favourite jazz musician of all times is Miles Davis:
This song would be sweet as “dreams come true”. Over the Rainbow, as played by Art Tatum:
My next suggestion would make me look like I’m stuck in the 90s..
Cherish (I Do) by 98 degrees
I could go on.. lol. Good luck in finding a song that is meaningful to you and your Fiance.
