Trying to finalize our ceremony and was thinking about the music. We have hired a harpist, and I wondered if any of you had some suggestions for songs? I think there is typically a prelude, processional, and then recessional, so I would need to have 3 separate songs prepared (at least).
Any suggestions for some classic and also some modern songs that could be played well on the harp?
Should I have the harpist play during the ceremony?

I have played piano at so many weddings I can’t count. The harpist, I am sure, will have a list of songs that can be played if they have experience playing at weddings. I usually play for about 20 minutes before the processional while people are being seated. Then there may or may not be a vocal selection. Unless you want music during the ceremony, say during a prayer or unity candle, etc. I don’t play during the officiant’s speaking.
Hope this helps. Basically, see what list of songs the harpist plays and go from there.
