Trying to finalize our ceremony and was thinking about the music. We have hired a harpist, and I wondered if any of you had some suggestions for songs? I think there is typically a prelude, processional, and then recessional, so I would need to have 3 separate songs prepared (at least).
Any suggestions for some classic and also some modern songs that could be played well on the harp?
Should I have the harpist play during the ceremony?

A harpist is a really nice choice for ceremony music. Very soft and elegant. I’d suggest asking your harpist for a list of their repetoire to get some ideas and find out if they are willing to learn any new pieces provided that you provide them with the music. I’d start on it asap because sometimes it can take a while to order sheet music.

We had a harpist at our ceremony and cocktail hour! We went with traditional ceremony music (canon in d, ode to joy, trumpet voluntary), and she played jazz songs for the cocktail hour. The ceremony music was beautiful. Not sure about the cocktail hour bc we were taking pics the entire time!
