Hi guys!
Since one of our musical friends could no longer perform at our wedding (he’s doing a medical mission trip during that time), I’ve been trying to come up with some awesome music for the ceremony.
We’re doing an outdoor wedding and want something non-traditional, “acoustic” and HAPPY.
My absolute favorite duo right now is The Civil Wars – a folk, indie songwriter pair. Their instrumental is just what we are looking for. Their lyrics are not usually about fulfilled love, however. I was looking for instrumental versions of their songs – something acoustic with some added strings and emotional, non-traditional sound. Contacted their publicist and instrumentals do not exist.
Any ideas for something similar?

Here’s a blog where they are featured. Maybe you could ask the host of the blog if she has any recommendations.

Have you tried Joshua Radin, Ray LaMontagne or Adele? They all have some great music with that folky feel.

@Julies I sent a message to that gal; maybe she’ll have some good recs.Ty!
@Jen I am a big Ray and Adele fan. I’ll dig into their music and see if I can find some instrumentals. Thanks for the recs!!
Would love some more options if anyone else has some ideas.

Try searching for “karaoke versions” of songs you like. It’s a good way to get instrumental versions of what you already enjoy.

Love them! Try Old Crow Medicine Show or The Band Perry, a little more blue-grassy but I think they’re similar enough. Ooooor you can make a Civil Wars station on Pandora and see what comes up.
